Plan an Event at the Saint Joseph Retreat & Conference Center!
In 1915 the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tipton were the first Sisters of the Fort Wayne Diocese to open their convent to lay women for a retreat for “spiritual accounting away from the turmoil of the noisy city.” The Sisters welcomed retreatants throughout their history in Tipton. Founder Mother Gertrude Moffitt said, “They are out for a few days air of the country...in a word, they are out to inhale the fresh breath of the Holy Spirit for their souls.”
The staff of the Saint Joseph Retreat & Conference Center continues the hospitality of this historic facility.Conveniently located at the heart of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, the Saint Joseph Retreat & Conference Center is idyllic if you want to come away, refresh and renew yourself in the beautiful Hoosier countryside.
The 40-acre Center offers various facilities for individuals and groups, including the Conference Center with six conference rooms and two dining halls featuring Keltie & Co. Catering, and a Retreat Center with 86 guestrooms and 192 beds. Our historic St. Joseph’s Chapel, seats 260 and has been restored to its original size and appearance. We feature two retreat homes, Nazareth House and St. John of the Cross for small retreats. Our picturesque campus is the perfect place to relax, listen to birdsong, and meditate on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The former motherhouse for the Sisters of Saint Joseph and St. Joseph Academy now serves as a spiritual epicenter for conferences, faith formation, and educational programs.
