The Church invites us during the Lenten season to peel away those things that make us unlike Jesus, so that by the end of the Lenten journey we may become more like him. Lent is a time to prepare us for the great events of the Triduum and the renewal of our baptismal vows. The St. Joseph Retreat & Con-ference Center in Tipton invites all to attend a Lenten Day of Reflection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fri-day, March 23. The day will include talks given by Father David Huemmer, the center’s chaplain, on the prayers found in the Lenten liturgies that pre-pare us for the Passion and the history of the Stations of the Cross. Participants also will have the opportu-nity to attend Mass, and time for confession and quiet reflection. Cost of $15 includes lunch.
