Each month we host a Get Away for a Day retreat for guests to visit our campus for a day of quiet and solitude. Led by Fr. David Huemmer, our Chaplain & Spiritual Director, this retreat is designed to have a balance between personal spiritual time and scheduled activity.
This monthly retreat is reasonably priced at $20 and times are set to allow parents to retreat while children are at school.
“My mom and I attended and had a restful, recharging experience,” said Genevieve Jones of Lafayette. “There was a very nice, hospitable lunch. We had some time together for prayer and study.”
Beginning at 9 am, guests design their personal retreat time around four anchors of activity. An hour of reconciliation time is set prior to Mass. After Mass, guests enjoy a box lunch provided by Keltie & Co. Catering. Then, prior to departure, guests may gather again to pray one of the five prayers of the Divine Office--Daytime Prayer. The retreat wraps up at 3 pm with time to visit Carpenter’s Shop Gifts.

During the time in-between activity, guests have a variety of options for spending their time. Some enjoy walking on our campus visiting the shrines and statues or following the Stations of the Cross. Others choose time indoors studying or reading in one of our gathering spaces. The St. Joseph Chapel is available throughout the day as well.
“St. Joseph’s is a beautiful campus for walking and praying!” said Peggy Reilly of Muncie. “Fr. Huemmer and the staff were wonderful. There was a very relaxing atmosphere, confessions, and Mass."
